Chelsea are set to follow up the signing of Timo Werner by making a £70m swoop for Bayer Leverkusen wonderkid Kai Havertz.

According to the Sun, Havertz is Frank Lampard’s latest target having already bought Hakim Ziyech to Stamford Bridge and with Werner expected to follow in a £53m deal.

Havertz is considered one of the finest young footballers around, with 15 goals this season added to the 20 he netted for Leverkusen last term.

He’s still only 20 and has been capped seven times by Germany, further enhancing his reputation.
